My DSLR Workflow

Lightroom ParisRecently I was chatting with a photographer friend of mine, Kevin, and we spent a while talking about optimizing the process of working with a large amount of files in Lightroom. Lightroom workflow varies by photographer; I’ll share mine here.

My workflow is optimized around speed. Depending on the type and the size of the event, my second-shooter and I shoot between 500 and 3,000 photos per event on 4 cameras (a Canon 5D Mark III, a 5D Mark II, a 7D, and a 60D).

Seattle Space Needle Skyline HDR

For a recent conference, I had the opportunity to stay at the top of Westin Seattle’s north tower and had an amazing view of the Seattle Skyline that includes the Space Needle.

I made this pseudo-HDR with my Nokia Lumia 920, plus a little editing help from Thumba Photo Editor for Windows Phone 8, all in-phone. Here is how I did it.
